Gordon Fleming, aged 66, was sentenced for the crimes which he admitted carrying out against his victims in the 1970s and 1980s.
He was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court for 34 counts relating to 35 victims.
The jail term was welcomed by Chief Inspector Steve Davies, who led the police investigation.
He said: “This is a significant custodial sentence passed down to a perpetrator of non-recent sexual offending. The sentence recognises the control and long-lasting harm caused to victims by an individual who betrayed his position of trust to sexually abuse children.
“I would like to thank all those who were affected for their courage in coming forward which led to the sentence today. We continue to work with our partners to make sure the best level of support is given to survivors of sexual abuse.”
The force said the safety, welfare and protection of vulnerable people was an absolute priority and that anyone affected by abuse should not suffer in silence.
An NSPCC spokesman said: “Fleming has caused incalculable harm to his numerous victims, abusing his position as a teacher to target children in his care for sexual exploitation. His victims should be commended for coming forward and having the bravery to report what happened to them in the past.
“It is vitally important that victims of non-recent child sexual abuse know that they will be listened to and that justice can be served.”
One survivor of Fleming’s criminal behaviour has spoken of her relief after the ex-primary school teacher was finally jailed for a string of historic sex offences against pupils at schools in North Wales.
The woman, now aged in her 40s who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she is determined to move on with her life after being abused by him when she was about 10 years old. She described how the abuse she suffered had a significant impact on her life and has affected her relationships with her husband, family and children. She has also experienced repeated nightmares and flash backs throughout her life since then. She said: “I am relieved that Fleming pleaded guilty and spared me and other survivors the pain and distress of a protracted court case.”
While it cannot change the past, I am glad we have now seen justice done and hope that it will go some way to giving us the peace to move on with our lives.
“I hope that by speaking out, others who have suffered abuse by those who were supposed to be in a position of trust will feel they can come forward and that justice can be done, even after so many years.”
Fleming, from Oswestry, abused the children over a six-year period in the 1970s and 1980s. Last month he pleaded guilty to indecent assault against 11 girls under the age of 13 while teaching at schools in North Wales, meaning that he has now pleaded guilty to 35 counts of indecent assault against young girls. He previously pleaded guilty to 24 counts of indecent assault.
Judge Geraint Walters had told him to expect a “significant prison sentence”.
“This represents a serious breach of trust for a junior school teacher abusing so many young girls.”
Fleming had previously been convicted of similar offences, at Chester Crown Court. He will also be put on the sex offence register.
Dyfed Powys Police launched an inquiry after several of his pupils reported what happened to them while they were in his classroom.

(CNN) — Jeffrey Sandusky, the son of convicted sex abuser and former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky, pleaded guilty Friday to all 14 counts of child sexual abuse against him.
The Centre Country district attorney’s office said the younger Sandusky, 41, entered the guilty pleas a week before his trial was scheduled to begin.
The 14 counts included soliciting sex from a child younger than 16 and soliciting child pornography.
According to the district attorney’s office, Sandusky will become a Tier III sex offender, the highest level in Pennsylvania.
The charges involve incidents with two girls, one in 2013 and one in 2016.
The crimes were uncovered late last year when a girl told her father that Sandusky had texted her repeatedly, asking her to send him naked photos.
The father contacted the police, and during the investigation, police discovered another girl, known as victim No. 2, who said Sandusky had asked her to engage in oral sex with him years before.
Both victims say Sandusky tried to use different excuses to try to get them to participate, saying at one point that he “had studied medicine” and another time that he believed that Victim No. 1 had shared a nude photo with her boyfriend, and he wanted to see it.
“This outcome also ensures the victims need not suffer the trauma and re-victimization of testifying at trial and importantly, the defendant will have to comply with strict sex offender registration requirements for the remainder of his life,” District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said.
According to the district attorney’s office, the terms of Sandusky’s plea guarantee that he will serve 3 to 6 years in state incarceration “but allows the judge to impose as much as 4 to 8 years of state prison in her discretion at the time of sentencing.”
Tier III offenders must register with the state police for life and verify their registration information in person four times a year,” according to the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.
Sandusky’s defense attorney could not be reached for comment.

SOUTH NYACK, NY — The South Nyack-Grand View Police Department arrested a New City resident Friday for sexual offenses involving a minor child.
The arrestee, 60-year-old David A. Storch, is accused of committing sexual acts in South Nyack on a child less than 13 years of age over a three year period between June 2008 and December 2011. Storch was charged with NYS Penal Law offenses Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child, a Class A-II Felony, and Course of Sexual Conduct against a Child in the First Degree, a Class B Felony.
Storch was arraigned in South Nyack Justice Court, remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of bail and is scheduled to return to the South Nyack Justice Court on Sept. 18.
South Nyack-Grand View Police Chief Brent Newbury thanked the Rockland County Intelligence Unit and the Rockland County District Attorney’s Special Victims Unit for their assistance with the investigation.
A PREDATORY paedophile who used threats of punishment, force and bribes to sexually abuse two young children has been jailed for 19 years.

A jury convicted David Michael Rispin, 54, of Tinley Gardens, Kirkbymoorside, near Pickering, of one count of rape, several charges of indecent assault at the end of a seven-day trial.

York Crown Court heard how Rispin, who had denied the charges, used two children for a number of years for his own sexual gratification.

Judge Andrew Stubbs QC told him: “You, as a predatory paedophile, groomed them over a period of years and over a long period of years, taking opportunities presented to you to get them on their own and then use them for your own purposes.

"It is plain from the offences, calculating and cynically you used threats of punishment, force and bribery by way of monies and chocolates to leave them powerless to make a complaint.

“The impact on them was plainly devastating. As their moving personal statements show, they are both still badly affected by your abuse.”

Rispin had denied three charges of rape, three alternatives to the rape charges of indecent assault and a further seven indecent assault charges.

It is the second time David Michael Rispin, 54, has been jailed for crimes against children.

In 1999, he was jailed for five years for a serious sexual offence against a young child.

In addition to the 19-year prison sentence, he was put on the sex offenders’ register for life. He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order banning him from ever contacting his victims, staying in the same house as any child under 16 and having any contact with any child under 16 other than under strict conditions and with the express consent of social services.

Rispin, who gave evidence during the trial, showed no reaction as the jury returned its verdicts.

His barrister, Nicholas de la Poer, gave no mitigation.

A REMORSELSS sex offender who groomed and molested two boys using “psychological manipulation” was last night behind bars – still denying his crimes.

Roy Willans, from Billingham, near Stockton, groomed two schoolboys with alcohol, cigarettes, video games, camping trips and even ferrets , a court was told.

The pizza shop worker, now aged 57, showed pornography to the boys and sexually assaulted them more than a decade ago – but made them feel at fault.

Prosecutor Shaun Dodds said Willans acted on a sexual attraction to boys and tempted the vulnerable victims with seeing ferrets at his home.

He said of the victims, now adults: “Both of them were impressive witnesses. There’s a curious background of almost psychological blackmail.”

Willans made the boys feel to blame when they resisted or challenged him – calling one a “tease” and giving another a “guilt trip” to stop them reporting him.

He told a boy he would be beaten up for being gay and would have no friends if he told anyone, Mr Dodds told Judge Tony Briggs at Teesside Crown Court.

During a trial last month, Mr Dodds said Willans's “classic predator conduct” made his young victims feel guilty about what had happened to them.

He told the jury that the boys made independent complaints and gave "honest accounts with common features" - and both had been scarred for life.

He described one as a “lost soul” who spoke out years later after falling into drug use, ending up in prison and was asked by a listener to write down his troubles.

In a powerful victim impact statement, he said his experiences left “images burned in my head for years”, and told how it has affected his relationships with girls, education and career prospects.

He said he felt dirty and disgusting but felt he could not tell anyone, became quiet and withdrawn, lost confidence and used drugs to block out his ordeals.

Willans, of Finchale Avenue, Billingham, denied 20 charges, but was convicted unanimously of 11 offences - five of indecent assault, six of indecency with a child - against both victims.

The jury cleared him of nine charges - one of rape, three of indecent assault, two of sexual assault and three of indecency with a child.
He denied grooming or touching the boys, giving them alcohol or showing them pornography and said nothing sexual happened with them, and claimed allegations were lies and “absolute nonsense”.
Judge Briggs said Willans hoped to get away with the abuse, and told him: “You do not accept guilt. There is no element of remorse in you as far as one can see.
“Be under no illusion, this is a very serious matter indeed. It’s perfectly plain that grooming took place and a subtle form of psychological manipulation, when it appears things had gone rather further than they expected.”
He jailed Willans for nine years with one year’s extended licence, and ordered him to sign on the sex offenders' register for the rest of his life.
CLEVELAND — The mother of a 6-year-old girl who was kidnapped and raped by Justin Christian said her family agreed to a plea deal imposing a 35-year prison sentence on Christian so her daughter won’t have to “look into the devil’s eyes to testify.”
The mother asked not to be identified by the media as she read an emotional statement telling Christian how his actions May 21, 2016, created a turmoil that has rippled through her family.
The deal allows Christian, 30, of Lorain, to avoid a trial by pleading guilty to kidnapping, rape, gross sexual imposition and burglary. Judge Nancy Russo accepted the deal in the Cuyahoga County Justice Center on Thursday with the recommendation that the 35-year sentence be served in its entirety.
In February 2016, Christian climbed a ladder and broke into a Furnace Street home in Elyria through the bedroom window of a 10-year-old girl. He grabbed the girl and said he would kill her whole family if she screamed, Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Matthew Meyer said.
The girl was able to fend off the attack by kicking Christian and screaming for her father, who grabbed a gun and attempted to chase Christian.
Then, in May, after several days of “prowling and casing” a home on West 104th Street in Cleveland, Christian kidnapped the sleeping 6-year-old from her home and took her to the house he shared with his mother and stepfather on West 22nd Street in Lorain where he kept her for the next 17 hours, Meyer said.
Christian ordered the girl to stay silent, Meyer said. He raped her and put her in a duffel bag where she stayed while Christian drove back to Cleveland and left her out on the street alone in Cleveland. She was found by a resident who immediately notified police, Meyer said.
The girl, now 7, spent a week in the hospital while investigators collected DNA samples from her body and clothing that would later match positively to Christian. The girl also was able to give an accurate description of a tattoo on Christian’s neck and the room in which he kept her, Meyer said.
State Attorney General Mike DeWine allowed law enforcement to use familial DNA to catch Christian after authorities spent months following up on hundreds of leads. Authorities were able to link the DNA evidence taken from the girl to DNA found on the ladder outside the Elyria home. The DNA matched that of Christian’s deceased brother, which allowed investigators to get a warrant for Christian’s DNA and make the arrest.
This case marks the first time familial DNA has been used to solve a crime in Ohio. Though controversial, DeWine said it was necessary.
“If there was ever a case that yelled out for familial DNA, it was this case,” DeWine said.
DeWine was joined by representatives from several of the agencies that participated in Christian’s arrest.
“Today is a good day. We got a monster behind bars,” Elyria Police Chief Duane Whitely said. “Hopefully we don’t have to deal with this again, but if we do, we know we have the backup here to get it done.”
The mother of the 6-year-old said each of her five children have suffered from Christian’s actions.
“I always preach to my children never to talk to strangers,” the mother said. “Never did I think that I should have also taught them to sleep with their eyes open.”
An older sister has trouble sleeping without checking the windows and doors, the mother said. Another sister has said she wished it was her instead of the 6-year-old, and a brother no longer will play outside.
“If it wasn’t for them, you would not be getting this plea deal. You deserve more than life in prison,” the mother said. “I don’t care if it takes until the day I die, our family will return to our normal lives. This will not destroy my family, but make us stronger.”
The grandmother of the 10-year-old Elyria girl read a statement written by the girl’s father.
“That night now affects my everyday life,” she read. “I don’t sleep. I’m a nervous wreck half the time.
“The past year has been hell for my family,” she continued. “Maybe after today she’ll go back to being the girl that she was. My daughter used to be very outgoing and involved, and now she is distant and doesn’t want to be involved in things.”
Both families said their children are in counseling.
During the sentencing, Russo acknowledged she could impose a longer prison sentence on Christian had the case gone to trial, but Christian showed “a small amount of mercy” in agreeing to the deal and pleading guilty.
“The psychological harm that you have done to these people will far outlast the physical contact,” Russo said. “Many years ago, I remember someone telling me that there are some things that we’re not meant to understand and shouldn’t try, and your actions fall into that category for me. I don’t think I ever want to understand why you did what you did.”
More than 70 children under five years old have been the victims of rape in Cambridgeshire, shock new figures reveal.
Rape arrests are on the increase and the oldest and youngest suspected victims and perpetrators of the crime in the county have also been revealed.
Five one-year-old babies are believed to have been raped, seven aged just two, 12 aged three, 26 aged four and 29 aged five.
One monster, Robin Matthews, was jailed for 27 years earlier this month (September).
The 63-year-old, of Hobart Road, Cambridge, was convicted by a jury of 21 counts of child sex abuse on two young children going back as far as 1970 up until 1992 following a week-long trial in July.
He was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday (September 7).
The pervert would forcibly take the victims and sexually assault or rape them, before giving them money or threatening to kill them if they told anyone.
And data obtained by the News using freedom of information laws also revealed the oldest rape victim of a reported rape was one 93-year-old and another victim was aged 88.
Teenagers fall victim to the crime the most with 18-year-olds becoming the victims of rapes 105 times.
But underage teenagers also fall victim more than other ages with 104 children aged 15, 102 aged 14 and 72 aged 13. A total of 190 youngsters aged 16 and 17 were also reported victims.

Rape suspects also range wildly in age. The age of criminal responsibility in England is 10 and a total of 15 10-year-olds were accused of rape.
But children under that age have also been reported for the crime including two aged just four, one aged five and six aged six as well as six aged seven, 10 aged eight and six aged nine - who cannot be charged for the offence.
The oldest person accused of rape was 76 and was among seven over-70s suspected of the crime.
And the number of suspected rapes in Cambridgeshire has increased from 529 in 2015 to 570 last year (2016) and so far this year 450 have been reported.
That’s a total of 1,549.

Inspector Kate Anderson, from the rape investigation team, said: “We have a dedicated rape investigation team and officers work hard to investigate all reports of rape and sexual assault we receive.
“Officers work with closely with The Elms sexual assault referral centre and other partners to ensure that all survivors of sexual assault and rape receive the right care and support.
“Work, both locally and nationally, to increase victim confidence in reporting has rightly led to an increase in the number of reports of rape and sexual assault we receive. This reflects a national trend.
“There is still work to do though and we would like to remind all people who have experienced a serious sexual assault that we are here to support them and we take all reports we receive extremely seriously.
“Anyone who has been a victim of a rape or sexual assault can report this to us at any time by calling 101 or receive support and assistance from The Elms without police involvement if they wish.”

FRAMINGHAM – A Framingham man admitted to police that he raped a young girl in his apartment, a prosecutor said in Framingham District Court on Monday.
Police arrested Santos Car-Sanchez, 27, just after 11 p.m. at his 154 Second St., charging him with raping the 7-year-old girl, prosecutor Joanna Staley said during Car-Sanchez’s arraignment.
The girl is the daughter of a female acquaintance of Car-Sanchez.
The woman went to the police station at 4:44 p.m. to report the rape. The woman told police that Car-Sanchez had sexually assaulted the girl with his hands sometime earlier in the day, Staley said. Her daughter appeared to be upset and the mother asked what was wrong.
“The girl initially said the defendant had been tickling her,” said Staley. “When asked where he tickled her, she pointed at her vagina.”
Police went to Car-Sanchez’s home to question him and he confessed, Staley said.
Police charged Car-Sanchez with aggravated rape of a child.

A paedophile who befriended and systematically raped a schoolboy 20 years ago has been given an extended custodial sentence as a dangerous offender.
The victim only came forward to report his ordeal after reading newspaper stories about other child sex offences carried out by 43-year-old Jason Beynon - who now goes by the name Jenson Taylor.
Swansea Crown Court heard that during the late 1990s Taylor, who was aged 22 at the time, groomed the young boy.
Catherine Richards, prosecuting, said the defendant befriended the boy, who was having trouble at home and was being bullied at school, and pretended to be his friend.
Taylor would give him sweets and take him for rides in his car, and after winning his trust subjected him to months of sexual assaults and rapes.

He also threatened him with violence if he told anyone what was happening.
It wasn’t until 2014 that the victim told a counsellor about what had happened to him as a boy.
The following year he read about the defendant's abuse of another young boy in the papers, and had the confidence to go to the police.
Taylor, of The Strand, Swansea, had previously pleaded guilty to six counts of indecent assault and three of rape when he appeared in the dock for sentencing.
The court heard details of the impact the abuse had on his victim.
In a statement read out by the prosecutor, he said the defendant “took away my childhood and my confidence”.
He said he found it difficult to form relationships, had tried to take his own life and only the intervention of a dog walker who came across him and talked to him had stopped him. He said he also felt guilty about not reporting what had happened sooner.
In 2014 Taylor - who then went by the name Beynon - was jailed for 42 months for trying to abduct a schoolboy from a Gorseinon street.
After engaging him in a conversation about tree houses, he pushed the boy into his car - but the terrified youngster managed to flee and raise the alarm.
Coverage of that case in the papers led to a man coming forward to report historical abuse he had suffered in the 1990s, and the following year the defendant was sentenced to 30 months in prison for gross indecency and serious sexual assaults on a young teenage boy, the new sentence to run consecutively with the abduction sentence.

Lee Donald Kaplan saved a Lancaster County couple's business.
He tutored their children, and he housed and fed them.
Then, for years, he led their six underage daughters into his Lower Southampton bedroom where he sexually abused them on nearly a daily basis.
“So if there was a good intent, it was washed away by the horrific acts that you committed upon this family,” Bucks County President Judge Jeffrey L. Finley said Wednesday.
The 52-year-old will now spend perhaps the rest of his life in state prison for his conviction earlier this year for the repeated assaults on his young victims.
Kaplan, of 400 block of Old Street Road, was sentenced in Bucks County Court to serve 30 to 87 years behind bars on charges of child rape, statutory sexual assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
The judge constructed the penalty from six smaller, consecutive sentences — one sentence imposed for each victim, Finley said.
A jury convicted Kaplan in June, finding him guilty of 20 felonies stemming from the repeated sexual abuse of the sisters. His youngest victim, 9, told jurors she was just 7 years old the first time Kaplan sexually assaulted her.
Prosecutors believe they have traced the abuse back to at least 2009, but suspect it may have gone on longer.
The victims, according to prosecutors, were given to Kaplan as gifts by their parents in exchange for his help in saving the family's metalworking business and for his guidance as the family transitioned out of the Amish community.
Kaplan sold himself to the family as a spiritual and religious prophet, interpreting the family's dreams and telling them it was God's will that he take their children as his wives, according to trial testimony.
Each of the victims, along with their mother, testified at trial that they still loved Kaplan and considered him their husband.
None was called to testify at his sentencing hearing.
Given the opportunity to speak in court, Kaplan offered no defense of himself nor any assertion of his guilt or innocence.
“I honestly believe that no matter what I said, or how true it was, the weight of the media, of public opinion and politics, is too great,” he said.
Kaplan's words echoed an early statement to police, in which he told an officer that he knew society would not approve of the home he was keeping.
Deputy District Attorney Kate Kohler said outside the courtroom that Kaplan's words were emblematic of his mindset.
“He clearly doesn't care,” she said. “But I think he understood the writing was on the wall.”
Kohler, who prosecuted the case with Assistant District Attorney Rose McHugh, kept her presentation in court brief and justified her request for consecutive sentences by highlighting a psychologist's report that classified Kaplan as a sexually violent predator.
The report also deemed Kaplan a pedophile almost certain to reoffend if released. Swiveling and fidgeting in his chair, Kaplan appeared to bristle at the designation.
After discovering an 18-year-old was the mother of one of Kaplan's 3-year-old children, police arrested the man and charged him with statutory sexual assault and other charges related to the abuse of the oldest victim.
Several months later, following a recorded conversation between the mother and her children inside the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, prosecutors charged Kaplan with abusing the other five.

Convicted child rapist to serve up to 87 years for abuse of six girls in Lower Southampton James O'Malley September 21 2017

SARIKEI: A father was sentenced to serve 480 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to 16 counts of rape as he committed the incestuous crime towards his 13-year-old daughter since early last year.
Berita Harian reported that the Sessions Court judge, Maris Agan, has ruled a 30-year sentence to each charge, on top of 18 strokes on the accused – which the judge has ruled the sentences to be carried out simultaneously beginning yesterday (18 September).
The 38-year-old perpetrator initially pleaded guilty to 12 counts of rape as he raped the victim in a room at his residence which is located in a longhouse in Sungai Bulat, Sarawak between January and December of last year.
He also pleaded guilty to four counts of rape as he committed the crime in the same location between July and 5 September this year.
The accused was charged under Section 376B (1) of the Penal Code, which carries a jail sentence of not less than 10 years and a maximum of 30 years and whipping upon conviction.
According to Berita Harian, the facts presented in the case indicate that the victim was raped every night between January and December of last year.
While the victim managed to escape the traumatising event earlier this year as she resided at her school’s hostel, the nightmare continued after she underwent a surgery to remove her ovarian tumours as the father continued with his inhumane transgression each time his daughter returned home.
However on 5 September, which was the last time the victim was raped, she confided in her mother that she was suffering from continuous pain on her stomach – near her surgical wound – but did not reveal her father’s sick transgression.
The student finally confided to her teacher of her situation, resulting in the teacher lodging a complaint against the perpetrator who was subsequently detained by the authorities on 7 September.
In yesterday’s proceeding, the prosecutor's office, Inspector G Anbarasu, appealed to the court to impose a heavy sentence on the accused as his actions has resulted in the child enduring the trauma throughout her life.
The accused however, who was unrepresented, appealed to the court to impose a lighter sentence against him.
