A carer who sexually abused a girl in Holloway in the 1980s has been jailed.

Eddie Budka, 53, of Clifton Street, Plymouth, was sentenced to 14 years at Blackfriars Crown Court.
The victim made a complaint to police in November 2015 after Budka made a friend request to her dad on a social media site.
She was abused by Budka from the age of three. She was regularly left in his care.
The final incident happened when she was nine. Budka entered her room while she was asleep and sexually assaulted her.
The victim’s mum later found Budka in the room and told him to leave. But he snuck back in. When the mum returned and saw him again, she shouted and he left the home.
Through this investigation, police identified two other victims, from Stroud Green and Palmers Green, who were abused in the 1990s.
Following a ten-day trial, Budka was found guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault and one count of actual bodily harm. He was found not guilty of two counts of indecent assault.
Det Cons Robert Hood said: “Budka is a dangerous predator who sexually abused and terrorised young innocent victims in his care between 1982 to 1996.
“Although it had taken in excess of 20 years for the victims to gain justice, Budka has now been brought to account for his actions.
“I would like to praise the victims for their bravery in helping us put Budka before the courts. I hope this sentence will give them some measure of closure.
“I would urge anyone who has suffered at the hands of people like Budka to come forward and contact your local police service.
“We take all allegations of this type extremely seriously, and we ensure that victims are supported throughout the process.”
An NSPCC spokeswoman added: “Budka’s behaviour is that of a serial sexual predator who took advantage of vulnerable young girls in his care. It is right that he is now behind bars.
”It is thanks to the bravery of his victims that he has now faced justice and we hope that all have received support to overcome the trauma of their experiences.
“This case shows that it is never too late for survivors of child sexual abuse to come forward and report abuse and seek help.”
If you would like to report any offences, call 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
EDMOND, Okla. - An Edmond man is in jail, charged with raping and sexually abusing children in his care.
Edmond police say Russell Lewis Cline was first arrested for domestic abuse in August at the home where he was watching two children.
“(A woman) had come home - to where she lived with the suspect - from the store and (Cline) was intoxicated,” said Edmond Police spokeswoman Jenny Wagnon. “And he told her, when she got to the house, to speak with her daughter about where he had touched her.”
Police records say the nine-year-old girl told her mother Cline “…had touched her…” genital area.
“That lead to a conversation with our victim and the parent,” Wagnon said. “When the parent confronted our suspect, he admitted to what the child was saying. There was an argument between those two adults in front of those two children in the home which led to our suspect punching the victim’s mother in the face.”
Cline, 30, was arrested by Edmond police on August 23 for the domestic assault. He bonded out several days later.
While Cline was in jail, investigators spoke with the nine-year-old and her five-year-old sister.
“During our forensic interview, information we weren’t expecting came out,” Wagnon said. “And so, just horrific crimes against the children.”
News 4 is withholding certain information about the case to not identify the domestic abuse and sexual assault victims.
“In this case, according to the victims, it’s been going on for a while,” Wagnon said.
Cline was arrested and charged with one count of rape by instrumentation, seven counts of lewd acts with a child and two counts of forcible oral sodomy. He was also charged with one count of engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses in two or more counties.
According to police records, the children told investigators Cline said they “…were told not to tell anyone and that the incidents were a ‘secret.’”
Police say during the abuse investigation, Cline refused to cooperate. At one point, prior to his arrest, an affidavit says Cline hid in a barn and also failed to show up to work and drove to Tulsa.
He was arrested when he came back to town and is currently in the Oklahoma County Jail, being held on $300,000 bond.

BALLSTON SPA — A defrocked former Catholic priest who lives at a “retreat” in Washington County was ordered held for lack of bail on charges that accuse him of sexually abusing a teenage boy in Saratoga County earlier this year.
Michael R. Hands, 51, a Level 3 registered sex offender from Easton, was sent to Saratoga County Jail for lack of $75,000 cash bail or $150,000 bail bond. He was arraigned before Saratoga County Judge James Murphy on a nine-count indictment for alleged sex crimes with a child in Charlton earlier this year.
Hands is a registered sex offender because of a 2003 sodomy conviction in Suffolk County, which occurred when he was a Catholic priest on Long Island in the early 2000s. He was removed from the priesthood after state records show he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy.
His case attracted national media attention at the time, with The New York Times reporting that Hands claimed he was sexually abused when he was studying to be a priest, and that he cooperated with an investigation into the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Center.
Hands has been living at 391 Herrington Hill Road in Easton for at least four years, registering that address with the state Division of Criminal Justice Services.
That is the address for Easton Mountain Retreat, a business that bills itself as a nonprofit “community, retreat center, and sanctuary created by gay men as a gift to the world.”
His profile on the organization’s website showed he served as its “membership director” in recent years, after starting as a “volunteer coordinator.”
He also bills himself online as a “life coach.”
Hands’ status with Easton Mountain Retreat was unclear Tuesday. A call to the organization was not returned.
Hands was arrested by State Police investigators from the Malta station in July, but the case was not publicized until a brief press release was issued by the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office last week about Hands’ indictment.
He faces felony counts of criminal sexual act, use of a child in a sexual performance, disseminating indecent material, sexual abuse, promoting a sexual performance by a child and a misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child, records show. In addition to sexual abuse of an underage person, he is accused of possessing and distributing child pornography, although it was unclear whether it was related to the child he is accused of molesting.
Authorities said he met the boy online before arranging meetings.
His lawyer, James Tyner, did not respond to a phone call for comment.
Hands faces up to 47 years in state prison on the charges.

On Aug. 31, 2017, John Tyler Ellis, a 54-year-old Alexandria resident, was sentenced in Alexandria Circuit Court to an active sentence of 40 years of incarceration for repeated offenses of sexual abuse against an 11 year-old-child.

Ellis was found guilty of seven felony charges: three counts of Forcible Sodomy, three counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery, and one count of Indecent Liberties With a Child.
The defendant’s crimes were exposed in June 2016 when the child’s stepfather discovered text messages on the child’s phone. When asked aboutthe messages, the child disclosed that they were from the defendant.
The child was interviewed at the Center for Alexandria’s Children, a child advocacy center serving the City of Alexandria. The child disclosed that on three occasions, the defendant had lured the child into the home under false pretenses and sexually abused the child.
Prior to this abuse, Ellis was a trusted family friend and neighbor who had known the child for years. Subsequent investigation revealed that Ellis had been sending text messages to the child for several months prior to the abuse, and the defendant had groomed the child to view him as a friend and confidant.
Ellis received an aggregate sentence of 160 years of incarceration, with all but 40 years of the sentence suspended. Upon his release from prison Ellis will be on supervised probation for the remainder of his life and he will be required to register under the Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry Act.
This case was investigated by Detective Kevin Thomas of the Alexandria Police Department’s Special Victims Unit. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Amanda Tassa prosecuted the matter on behalf of the Commonwealth with the assistance of the Director of the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Victim Witness Assistance Program, Judy Holl. Mental health providers from the Community Services Board and advocates from the City’s Sexual Assault Center provided support. All of the agencies involved in the investigation and prosecution of this case are members of the City’s Multi-Disciplinary Team. The MDT conducts collaborative and coordinated investigations that prioritize the child’s safety, well-being, and resilience.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter said: “First, my thoughts are with the victim of this horrendous series of sexual assaults and with the victim’s family. There is no doubt that the defendant’s criminal actions have had a devastating effect on the victim. However, in my experience the courage and perseverance of sexual assault survivors allows them to rise above the pain and I am certain that the victim in this case has that courage.”
“In any child sexual assault case the women and men who investigate the case and bring the perpetrator to justice suffer the vicarious trauma of living and then reliving the assault of an innocent victim. I wish to commend by name Detective Kevin Thomas of the Alexandria Police Department who lived this case every day for over a year.”
“In Alexandria, we have an outstanding and experienced Multi-Disciplinary Team that brings professionals from many different fields to collectively work on this type of case. Our MDT is an example for other localities to emulate. The City is lucky to have such dedicated people working together for a common cause.”
Ellis is currently in custody in the William G. Truesdale Alexandria Adult Detention Center pending his transfer to the Department of Corrections.

Alexandria Man Sentenced To 40 Years For Repeated Sexual Assault Of A Child September 5th 2017

CEDAR CITY – A Parowan man was arrested following a police interview when he confessed to raping and sodomizing two children.

Robert Randall Titensor is facing one count of object rape of a child and three counts of sodomy of a child – all first-degree felonies.
The two children, male and female, were 7 and 8 years old, Parowan Police Sgt. Mike Berg said.
The allegations against the 39-year-old suspect were initially lodged by an anonymous caller to the state Division of Child and Family Services. The agency passed the allegations to the Parowan Police Department for further investigation, Chief Ken Carpenter said. Authorities received the complaint last week.
“On cases like this with these types of serious offenses, you don’t want to take a lot of time but at the same time, you want to be thorough in your investigation,” Carpenter said. “You have to move as fast as you can, though, because you want to avoid the possibility of further victimization.”
Investigators brought the suspect in for questioning after interviewing the children last week. Titensor immediately confessed to the allegations against him, Berg said. He also provided details of the incidents that authorities said occurred multiple times over the course of the last three-to-four months.
Utah code 76-5-402.3 defines what constitutes object rape of a child, while 76-5-403.1 covers the charge of sodomy of a child.
If convicted, Titensor would spend no less than 25 years in the Utah State Prison for each charge but could be sentenced to life without parole if the alleged acts caused serious bodily injury.
Titensor was booked into the Iron County Correctional Facility. Given the Labor Day holiday, his bail will not be set until Tuesday when a 5th District judge can review the charges.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

A Trumbull County Judge has set bond at $1,000,000 for a Girard man accused of raping a child.
Forty-five-year-old Donald Bonetti remains in the Trumbull County Jail, charged with six counts of rape, three counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of attempted rape.
According to police, Girard officers were contacted by Trumbull County Children Services workers after they had interviewed the victim in August.
Police say children services told officers that the victim said she had been being raped by Bonetti since she was seven years old.
At the time the report was made, the victim was reportedly 15 years old.
Bonetti appeared in a Trumbull County Courtroom Wednesday morning and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He is scheduled to appear back in court next month.

Peter Daniels, 69, pleaded guilty to twelve counts of sexual assault at Winchester Crown Court.
The charges against him date back to August 2016.
Enquiries are now taking place into similar offending by Daniels, after 16 other children made complaints, the court heard.
Prosecuting, Tom Moores said there was a "large ongoing enquiry" and "a large quantity of material stored on phones and cameras to be checked".
He said Daniels "was a keen cameraman and filmed and photographed perfectly normally on occasions" but indecent images and videos had been found.
Mr Moores said the investigation into the new allegations may not be complete until early next year.
Judge Susan Evans QC told Daniels: "Please understand you are going to receive a significant custodial sentence."
Daniels, who spoke only to confirm his name, will be sentenced on October 13 at Winchester Crown Court.
He will be remanded in custody until that date, while probation workers carry out a report to assess how dangerous he is.

A Harley Street sex therapist who raped a child at a leisure centre for the 'thrill' was branded a 'depraved predator' as he was sentenced to 17 years in prison today.
Nicholas Gully, 47, was arrested after raping a 14-year-old boy in a public toilets at a leisure centre just two days before he was due to emigrate to Thailand.
At his trial the boy told the court he had been to the gym and was waiting for a lift home from his mother.
While he was waiting Gully made eye contact with him and then approached him in the public toilets.
The teenager told police he tried to escape his advances by going into a cubicle but Gully followed him in.
The married father-of-two, who treats patients suffering from sex and love addiction, then raped the 14-year-old.
After a five day trial at Hove Crown Court a jury found him guilty of one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
Today he was sentenced to 17 years and told he must serve a minimum of 11 years before he would be eligible for release.
Judge Christine Henson said the psychotherapist had derived 'a depraved sexual thrill' from raping the child and was a 'predatory manipulator.'
She said: 'Your victim was particularly vulnerable because of his age. He has suffered severe psychological harm because of the serious sexual abuse by you.'
Gully, of Rottingdean, East Sussex, was sentenced to two and half years for the first assault, four years for the second and 11 years for the rape.

A Liberty man faces up to 40 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing a child over a six-year period.
Joseph Campbell Williams II, 45, was convicted in a Pickens County courtroom on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, according to a news release from 13th Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins.
Wilkins stated that Assistant Solicitor Shannon Odom established that Williams repeatedly forced the young female to have sex with him several times between 2003 and 2009, and that the abuse didn't stop until the child was 13 years old. Wilkins said the victim ultimately reported the abuse years later.
Judge Perry Gravely sentenced Campbell to 30 years on the first count, Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, First Degree, and 10 years on the second count, Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Second Degree.
The sentences are to be served consecutively, which means Campbell won't start serving time for the second sentence until he has completed the first one, and he'll have to complete at least 85 percent of each sentence, according to Wilkins.
