CHILD RAPISTS 160

A sex beast who degraded and humiliated his young victim with "abhorrent" abuse involving threats and violence has been jailed for 17 years.
Under the sentence for public protection, Phillip Monksfield will have to serve two thirds before he can be considered for release.
He will also be on licence for a further five years.
A judge said the victim's "haunted demeanour" was there for all to see when she gave evidence at her 32-year-old abuser's trial.
Monksfield, formerly of Faversham and Sheerness, denied two offences of rape, two of sexual assault of a child under 13, causing a child to engage in sexual activity and possessing indecent images of a child, but was convicted in June.
He also denied a further charge of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and two of sexual assault, but the jury could not reach verdicts on those charges and the prosecution offered no further evidence.
Maidstone Crown Court heard of offences dating back almost 10 years, Monksfield repeatedly attacked the girl after discovering she had previously been abused.
He groped her asking: "Did he touch you like this?"
He told her she would enjoy having sex with him and threatened that she would regret it if she didn't do what he asked. At one point he pushed her into a cupboard.

"Your actions towards the victim in so many ways robbed her of her childhood...you controlled, manipulated, threatened and used violence in order to maintain her silence" -Judge Philip St John-Stevens
The victim did not go to the police for some time because she felt she would not be believed and was driven to the brink of suicide.
Prosecutor Sarah Ellis said Monksfield repeatedly molested the victim and made her perform sex acts. On one occasion he raped her on a table.
“He would threaten her and say that if she told anyone he would kill her,” said Miss Ellis.
Monksfield, now of Romford, Essex, denied any inappropriate behaviour, saying others may have abused the victim, but not him.
Judge Philip St John-Stevens said the victim’s statement showed "the bravery of this young lady" in describing how Monksfield would beat her and make her so scared she did not know what to do.
“I watched the victim give evidence,” said the judge.
“She had to relive the violence you inflicted on her.
“The haunted demeanour of her was there for all to see – her humiliation, degradation, shame and inability to trust those around her, particularly men.
“You remain resolute in your denials. It is abhorrent to all. There is a lack of insight and failure to accept your criminality.”
Monksfield’s name will appear on the sex offenders' register for life.
The judge told him: “Having considered all the material and watched you give evidence, I am quite satisfied you are dangerous. Therefore, there will be an extended sentence.
“Your actions towards the victim in so many ways robbed her of her childhood.
"You controlled, manipulated, threatened and used violence in order to maintain her silence.
“Those mental scars she carries may begin to heal. It is the deep and profound mental anguish you leave behind in the mind of the victim.”
The victim told in a statement read to the court how the prolonged abuse had impacted on her heavily.
She said she struggled in her formative years and could not have a male teacher at school, otherwise she would run away.
“I thought all men were out to get me,” she continued.
“I couldn’t trust them. It had an impact on my learning and mental health.
“I turned to someone else for support and only became victimised again.
"I suffered form post traumatic stress disorder, depression and have a history of self-harming.
"I tried hanging myself twice. I was hospitalised from taking overdoses. I suffered from paranoia – all attributable to the abuse I suffered.
“I just feel so vulnerable. It takes over my everyday life.
"Some days I can’t perform the most simple tasks.”

HUNTINGTON - Two men have been indicted in separate cases alleging the sexual assault and abuse of two girls who were in their care.
According to indictments released last week, a Cabell grand jury has indicted Roy Douglas Watts, 42, of Prichard, charging him with with sexually abusing and photographing his girlfriend's daughter, who was less than 10 years old at the time.
Watts was charged with three counts each of sexual abuse by a person in position of trust and first-degree sexual assault, in addition to the single count of first-degree sexual abuse.
The abuse occurred in October 2016 while the child's mother was caring for a family member and left the girl in Watts' care, reports from the Cabell County Sheriff's Office state.
The victim confided in her mother that Watts had "taught her about sex," reports state, and that the 42-year-old had shown her pornographic videos and taken photos of her in her underwear. The victim also stated Watts exposed himself and gave her a body massage.
While the abuse has a one-month timeframe, authorities previously said the assault could have begun as early as 2011.
Watts remains housed at Western Regional Jail on a $1 million bond.
In a separate, unrelated case, a Barboursville man accused of sexually abusing a young female family member over a four-year period has also been indicted on sexual assault charges.
Donald Keith Moore, 48, of Barboursville, was indicted on six counts of sexual abuse by a person in position of trust, two counts each of first-degree sexual assault, first-degree sexual abuse, and third-degree sexual assault and incest, according to indictments unsealed Friday.
According to criminal complaints filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court, the investigation began in May when the victim, now housed at an alternative school, confided in employees she had been sexually abused by Moore between 2009 and 2013, beginning when she was in second grade.
In an interview with troopers, the victim accused Moore of performing sexual acts and groping her as she pretended to sleep while her mother was away at work. The reported abuse happened on at least 10 occasions, complaints state, at three different residences in Huntington. Moore remains housed at Western Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.

A grand jury has indicted a Cullman man accused of raping, sodomizing and drugging a 12-year-old girl with methamphetamine in May.
Joshua Dwayne Aker, 36, is charged with five felony charges — first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and chemical endangerment of a child.
He remains in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $200,000 cash bond, according to his indictment filed July 20 in Cullman County Circuit Court.
He was arrested May 13 after Cullman Regional staff contacted the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office with suspicions that a child who had received care there had been raped.
“Investigators identified the suspect to be Mr. Aker. CCSO deputies and investigators located him on County Road 222 and conducted a traffic stop where the suspect, Mr. Aker, was arrested…on multiple outstanding warrants,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry in a press release.
Aker was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree possession of marijuana upon his arrest.
Aker is scheduled to appear before Circuit Judge Greg Nicholas at 9 a.m. Aug. 18 for his arraignment. Attorney Jason Knight has been appointed to represent him.
Court records show Aker has a lengthy criminal history.
In 2015, he was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and he pleaded guilty to one count in 2016. In 2013, he pleaded guilty to domestic violence- strangulation/suffocation and was acquitted of unauthorized use of a vehicle in 2011.
He pleaded guilty in 2002 to a negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument and to a third-degree theft charge in 1998.
If convicted on the first-degree rape and/or sodomy charges, Aker faces a minimum prison sentence of 20 years since the victim was a child and a maximum of 99 years.

On August 4, Jose Daniel Estrada, 36 of Clifton, was sentenced to 20 years for two counts of felony sexual battery, with 12 years suspended -- two sentences to run concurrently.

Upon release, he will have 12 years of supervised probation and be required to register as a sex offender. Probation restrictions include being banned from teaching children or having contact with the victims or their families; no unsupervised contact with minors without approval; sex offender evaluation and treatment; no unapproved use of computers or the Internet; and more.
The charges were a result of separate incidents with two female students at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School when he was a math teacher. Estrada entered a guilty plea at a hearing in May. He was arrested in February by the City of Falls Church Police. The first victim reported an incident to the Falls Church City Public Schools in January, and Estrada was immediately removed from his assignment. A second victim came forward during the investigation. Police detectives, Child Protective Services, and school administration collaborated throughout the process.
“Our community will feel the effects of this case for a long time,” said Police Chief Mary Gavin. “The Darkness to Light organization recently held training for the community. It was really effective in teaching adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. I can’t say enough about the value of educating yourself on how deal with these situations, even if you think it’ll never happen to a child you care for. It’s our obligation as community members to stand up for children. We stand with these victims who spoke out, and the adults who encouraged them to report the incidents.”
"We are grateful for the sentence handed down by Judge Newman," said Theo Stamos, Commonwealth Attorney. "It is my hope that the sentence will bring peace to the victims, their families, and the entire community."
A 68-year-old McGregor man pleaded guilty to four counts of sexually assaulting a young family member and will be sentenced later this week to 25 years in prison.
Danny Ray Elliott pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and three counts of sexual assault of a child in exchange for recommendations from prosecutors that he be sentenced to 25 years in prison on the first count and 20 years on the remaining three counts.
Judge Matt Johnson of Waco’s 54th State District Court delayed sentencing Elliott until Wednesday so the girl, who is now 20, could deliver a victim-impact statement in court.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors reduced the first count from continuous sexual abuse of a child, which carried a maximum sentence of life in prison with no hope for parole.
The plea bargain calls for the sentences to be served concurrently, which means Elliott will be at least 80 before he can be considered for parole.
Elliott’s attorney, Jonathan Sibley, declined comment on the case Monday. Prosecutor Christi Hunting Horse also declined comment.
According to records filed in the case, the girl was 17 when she reported the abuse after she had a miscarriage in 2014 and Elliott expressed concern that the baby could have been his.
The girl told McGregor police investigators that Elliott began touching her inappropriately when she was 14 or 15 in 2011. She said the sexual abuse escalated when she would accompany Elliott on out-of-town trips to sell bird houses he made and they would stay together in motels.
The girl also reported that Elliott would wait until family members were asleep and he would wake the girl up, bring her to the living room and have sex with her two or three nights a week.
RUSSELLVILLE — The Alabama Court of Appeals has affirmed the conviction and sentence of Matthew D. Trapp.
“This is the first step in the appeals process, but a big step,” Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing said. “He is staying in prison, right where he needs to be."
Trapp, 31, 20 Mondye Road, Phil Campbell, was convicted in August 2016 of three counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12, all Class B felonies, which carry a 2-to 20-year sentence on each charge.
After his conviction, Franklin County Circuit Judge Terry Dempsey sentenced Trapp to 20 years on each charge. He also ruled the sentences should be served consecutively.
“So, he has a long time to serve,” Rushing said.
Since the convictions involve sexually related charges, there is no early release for good behavior.
Trapp, officials said, was accused of abusing a young girl during a two-year period starting when she was 6 years old.
Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said Trapp is accused of sexually abusing the girl while he was living with the girl and her mother in the Phil Campbell area. Authorities said the girl was 13 at the time Trapp was arrested.
Investigators said the child reported she told someone when the incident originally occurred, but the person didn’t believe her.
The girl told investigators she was afraid of Trapp because he whipped her hard in the past, and he had been abusive to her mother while he was living with them.
Rushing said the child testified during the trial.
“The decision by the appeals court is fitting since the appeal was based on ineffective counsel,” Rushing said. “(Trapp) fired his court-appointed attorney the day before the case was set for trial, and hired another one trying to get the case put off. It didn’t work, and he was found guilty.”
Rushing said he expects the case to be appealed to the Alabama Supreme Court.

A husband and wife in the Jacksonville area are charged in connection with the sexual molestation of multiple children.

Onslow County Sheriff Office's Special Victims Unit got a report on May 26th that a child was being sexually molested. During the investigation it was discovered two other children were also victims, which lead to the arrest of Corey Greenfield, of Maplehurst Drive.

Greenfield was arrested and charged with five counts of statutory sexual offense, two counts 1st degree statutory sexual offense, six counts indecent liberties with a child and statutory sexual offense by an adult. Greenfield was booked into the Onslow County Detention Center on a $775,000 secured bond.

Greenfield's wife, Bambi Townsend, was aware of the molestation but failed to report it to authorities, according to OCSO. She was also arrested and charged with three counts of failing to report child abuse or sexual abuse and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Townsend was booked into the OCDC under a $6,000 secured bond.

We're told Judge Stacy Trotter found Sanchez guilty and sentenced him to life behind bars.
District Attorney Bobby Bland said in a statement, “This maximum sentence handed down by Judge Trotter will assure that this defendant stays where he belongs and will no long victimize the children of our community.”
GLENS FALLS — A Glens Falls man was jailed for sexually abusing a child younger than 11, police said.
Kevin R. Sterling, 31, of Sherman Avenue, was arrested after police received a complaint that he had sexual contact with a child he knew earlier this year, according to Glens Falls Police.
Sterling made admissions when he was questioned, and was also charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, police records show.
He was arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.
Glens Falls Police Detective Sgt. Kyle Diamond investigated the case, assisted by State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Queensbury station.

A SUNSHINE Coast man who raped his nine-year-old step-granddaughter and sexually abused his eight-year-old step-granddaughter is expected to be in prison or under a suspended sentence until his death.
The 72-year-old bowel cancer patient, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his victims, appeared in Maroochydore District Court for sentencing on three counts of rape and six counts of indecent treatment of a child under 12 in his care.
Doctors have estimated he has 30 months to live, and the man will spend 10 of those months in prison, after which his sentence will be suspended until August 2021.
The elderly man sat in the prisoner's dock, dressed in a blue jumper and slacks as judge Gary Long made the sentencing remarks.
Mr Long said the man took advantage of the girls' vulnerability and the family's trust in the offences committed from April to June, 2015.
"(The girls) themselves indicated this was not isolated offending," Mr Long said.
The court heard the man digitally raped the older girl three times, made her kiss him and touch his genitals, and took baths with her in which his genitals touched her.
He also touched the younger girl's genitals while she was sitting on his lap.
Mr Long also took the man's early guilty plea, his age and his deteriorating health into consideration in the sentencing.
The man's family sat in the courtroom's public gallery during the proceedings.
